Highlights from the October 8th Meeting
Fundraiser
We are working on setting the spring fundraiser. We will be using Party Time again this year. We decided that we would only sell from their frozen food flyer and that we would do our own prizes. Cathy will work with Scott to set the dates.
Cookbooks
There are about 20 cookbooks left if anyone is interested. The cost is $5. See Cathy if interested.
Lego League
Greg Westwater as well as team member Madison were present to ask for funding to purchase a color sensor for their robot to help with one of the missions that they have this year. The cost is around $40. They also asked for the group to pay for the local competition that is held in December. This was not covered by the grant from Rockwell Collins they received. The cost is usually around $20. Greg is still waiting for final confirmation on that. It was decided that PTO would pay for both the sensor and the competition fee.
Battle of the Books
It was approved that PTO and IMPACT would split the cost of sending three teams to Battle of the Books. The cost is $30 a team.
Contact Paper
It was approved to reimburse Joan King for contact paper used to protect the library books. This is a great way to protect the investment of library books. The cost was $23.45.
ITBS
It was approved that treats be purchased for 3-8th grades for each day of testing.
Spelling Bee
Jen Wrage was present to ask for fees for the Scripps Spelling Bee. There will be a school wide competition and one person from our school will be chosen to compete. The cost was $122.
Geography Bee
As fees come due for the geography bee we approved the payment of this as well.
Parent Teacher Meals
We will be providing meals both the 22nd and 25th at both campuses for the teachers during parent teacher conferences. These are long days for the teachers and they appreciate having those meals as they are often booked during the evening and don't have the opportunity to leave and get dinner.
Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be January 14th at 7:00 at the Reinbeck Elementary Media Center. This is a change from what is on currently on the calendar.

Box Tops
Hopefully you all have been saving your box tops over the summer. These are a great way to help our schools earn a little extra money for the classrooms. We use the money from box tops to help fill teacher requests for materials in the classroom as well as helping provide technology for our students. Keep collecting them throughout the year. Register at boxtops4educaiton.com for extra ways to earn money. Some are as simple as answering a one or two question survey.
